Alfredo Di Stefano, the legendary footballer of "Real Madrid", entered football history 36 years ago by winning the Super "Golden Ball" award.
İdman.Biz reports that "France Football" awarded Di Stefano the Super "Golden Ball" on December 24, 1989.
In the voting, he surpassed stars like Johan Cruyff and Michel Platini.
Di Stefano led Real Madrid to five consecutive European Cups and made history by wearing the famous white jersey.
During his playing career, he also won the "Golden Ball" award in 1957 and 1959.
It should be noted that the Super "Golden Ball" award was established only once in 1989 on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the publication of France Football, and the aim was to determine the greatest player in football history not of one season, but of an entire era - mainly between the 1950s and 1980s. As a result of voting by former "Golden Ball" holders, journalists and football experts, Alfredo Di Stefano was awarded this title, and he remains the first and so far only football player to receive this award.
