Atletico Madrid's sporting director, Mateu Alemany, has put an end to the rumors circulating about Antoine Griezmann leaving the team.
İdman.Biz reports, citing Tribuna, that the club official has strongly denied the claims that the French striker will be transferred mid-season. Alemany stated in a statement after the Champions League round of 16 draw that these reports are just speculation.
"These are all rumors. Antoine has two years left on his contract, he is completely focused on the upcoming games, and his performance is very good," the sporting director emphasized.
It was noted that the 34-year-old striker allegedly received an offer from MLS representative Orlando City and that the parties had already reached an agreement. However, the management of the Madrid club confirmed that Griezmann will remain in the team at least until the end of the season and will be one of the key figures in the Champions League matches against Tottenham.
