Azerbaijani national team midfielder Aleksey Isayev shared his thoughts on the big goals of "Qarabag" in European cups.
Idman.biz reports that the 29-year-old football player gave an interview to "Championat".
Isayev says that "Qarabag" is always tasked with reaching the main stage of the UEFA Champions League: "We are moving step by step in this direction. Our team is a good, close-knit team, we have professional players and an excellent coaching staff. I think we deserve that level.
I watched the game in Budapest at home, in Baku. When the ball went into our goal, of course, there was anxiety. But I believed in the team and I still believe. Even before the game, I said that we would win today and the guys did their job perfectly. But you can't be complacent. Nothing is over. The return match will be more difficult and we must be fully prepared for it.
There is no pressure, but people hope, believe and look forward to it. We must not disappoint them. We must achieve our goal."
It should be noted that in the first leg of the Champions League play-off stage, "Qarabag" defeated the Hungarian club "Ferencvaros" 3:1 away. The return match will be held today in Baku and will start at 20:45.
