Aleksandr Dimitrov, head coach of the Bulgarian national team consisting of football players under 21, commented on the first two matches in the qualifying round of the European Championship.
İdman.biz reports with reference to sportinfo.az that the 49-year-old specialist said that he was satisfied with the fight in the match in which they drew 1:1 with our national team. He also emphasized that football is developing in Azerbaijan:
"We aimed to collect 6 points in the games with Gibraltar and Azerbaijan. Unfortunately, we lost 2 points in Baku. True, we won a big victory (3:0) over Gibraltar. But even though it was a long trip to Azerbaijan, we played better against them. Azerbaijan is a very well-developing opponent. They invest a lot in football."
The Bulgarian specialist also assessed the chances of the U-21s to qualify for the final stage:
"Although the group is very difficult, we have a chance to qualify for the European Championship. We want to take the youth national team to the next stage."
