Real Madrid defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has commented on the victory over Manchester City in the Champions League Round of 16. The Madrid club won both matches (3:0 and 2:1), eliminating their opponent from the tournament.
Idman.Biz reports that the English footballer, who transferred from Liverpool to the Royal Club last summer, did not hide that this victory was of particular importance to him.
"This is the most important stage of the season. Big games come one after another, and each one feels like a final. The expectation at Real is always to go all the way and win the Champions League. It's ingrained in the club's DNA. We enjoy this pressure, and it helps us bring out our best qualities," said Trent.
Alexander-Arnold also made an interesting confession regarding Manchester City:
"It was nice to beat City. They took a few medals from me and Liverpool in the past. It's always difficult to play against them, so we're proud of the game we showed."
It should be noted that with this victory, Real Madrid eliminated Manchester City from the tournament for the third consecutive season. The defense led by Alexander-Arnold managed to neutralize Erling Haaland in both matches.
