Chelsea's new footballer, Alejandro Garnacho, will play for the London club under number 49.
Idman.biz reports, citing the "Blues" press service, that the choice is not accidental - the Argentine started his career in the main squad of "Manchester United" under this number.
Garnacho's transfer cost Chelsea 40 million pounds. The Argentine left Old Trafford after a conflict with head coach Ruben Amorim, although he played 58 games last season and scored 11 goals, setting a personal record. In total, the winger played 144 games for United and scored 26 goals.
Now Garnacho will have to prove himself in the Chelsea squad. The 20-year-old footballer hopes to show himself again at Stamford Bridge and be included in the Argentine national team for the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
