Inter Miami players Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets have announced the end of their professional careers after the MLS 2025 season playoff final.
Idman.Biz reports that the decision came after the team won the MLS 2025 Cup final, defeating the Vancouver Whitecaps 3-1 to become champions of the North American League. That match was the last club game for both players.
37-year-old Sergio Busquets had previously announced that he would end his career in September 2025, while 36-year-old Jordi Alba would end his in October. Both players were planning to retire at the end of the season.
Sergio Busquets spent his main career at Barcelona from 2008, and in the summer of 2023 he transferred to Inter Miami. In total, he participated in 840 matches at the club level and scored 19 goals. Jordi Alba is known as a graduate of the Barcelona and Valencia academies, and has been playing for Inter Miami since 2023.
