Al-Ittihad head coach Sergio Conceicao has responded to a question about striker Karim Benzema's unwillingness to play for the team.
According to Idman.Biz, earlier reports circulated that the 38-year-old striker was offended by a new offer to play for the Saudi club. It is emphasized that the French footballer personally requested to be excluded from the squad for the Pro League match against Al-Fateh (2:2).
"You'll have to ask the club management about Karim Benzema. I came here to coach, prepare the team for the game, achieve results and win titles. Other issues are beyond my authority. I can only say one thing: Karim is an excellent professional, a fantastic player, and I am proud of him as a coach," journalist Fabrizio Romano quoted Conceicao on his X social media platform page.
