The Amsterdam representative has not yet been able to score points in the Champions League and sees the upcoming match against "Qarabag" of Agdam in Baku as one of the possible chances to get their first points.
According to Idman.Biz, the Amsterdam club lost 0:2 at home to Portugal's "Benfica" in the fifth round of the Champions League group stage and is the only team in the tournament that has not yet scored points, taking the last place in the tournament table.
"Ajax" does not hide that the purpose of the upcoming trip to Baku is simple: to finally earn their first points in the current season of the Champions League. This was stated, in particular, by Fred Grim, who is acting as the head coach of the club.
"We want to get rid of this zero that we hate. We are currently restructuring the team and hope to see the benefits of this in the near future," said Grim, according to the Dutch press.
The "Qarabag" - "Ajax" game will be held on December 10 in Baku, at the Tofig Bahramov Republican Stadium, and will start at 21:45 Baku time. It is expected in the Netherlands that about 1,400 fans will support the Amsterdam club in the capital of Azerbaijan.
It should be reminded that "Qarabag" lost to Italy's "Napoli" 0:2 in the fifth round of the Champions League and is in 19th place with seven points. The upcoming game with "Ajax" may be decisive for Gurban Gurbanov's team in terms of getting into the top 24. This ranking gives teams a ticket to the play-off stage.
