Elshan Abadov, the head coach of "Ağstafa Gəncləri," who plays in the PFL II League, has made a statement regarding the current situation of the team after the first round.
Idman.Biz reports that Abadov's statement was published on the club's social media account.
"Ağstafa Gəncləri" is ranked tenth in the tournament table with 8 points.
The head coach said that the situation is not encouraging for the team at the bottom of the tournament table, and the main reason for this is not only related to the game on the field.
According to Elshan Abadov, the club is currently facing serious financial difficulties. The team does not have a stable source of funding, and the management is currently looking for a sponsor. This directly affects both the preparation process and the motivation of the players.
"The salaries paid to the football players of the teams we face are 3–5 times higher than the amount our players receive. In such a situation, it is extremely difficult to compete on an equal level. Football is no longer just a game played on the field, but also an area that requires serious financial resources.
Nevertheless, the team does not intend to give up. Despite limited opportunities, the players try to go to each game with maximum motivation, and the coaching staff does its best to get the best result from the existing staff. This struggle is not only for points, but also for the future of the club," the head coach emphasized.
