The Azerbaijani national football team must win the friendly match against the Latvian national team on the road.
Aghasalim Mirjavadov, a member of the AFFA Coaches Committee, told "Report" about this.
He said that the head coach of the team, Fernando Santos, made a number of reforms in the training camp in March:
"But in this case, there is no need for experimentation. It is necessary to improve the main squad and form the game tactics. The team's official matches will start from September. Winning in today's game is very important for our national team psychologically. The team must defeat its opponent, and the players and coaches must believe in themselves. I wish the team success. I hope they will win. Players who are closest to the main squad should be given a chance today."
A. Mirjavadov also commented on the national team's last victory in June 2024:
"There are problems in the team. But they must be solved. Fernando Santos is a famous specialist. After the Portuguese national team, he worked for a short time in the Polish national team and the Turkish club "Besiktas". He needs to be trusted. He also needs to trust the players."
It should be noted that the Latvia-Azerbaijan match, which will be held today at the "Skonto" stadium in Riga, will start at 17:00 Baku time.
