Aghasalim Mirjavadov on Expectations from "Neftchi" and the Problem of Distrust in Local Experts

"Neftchi's goal for every season should be the championship." These words were said by Aghasalim Mirjavadov in his statement to Sport24.az.

The member of the AFFA Coaching Committee revealed his expectations from the "Neftchi" club in the new season:

"There have been radical changes in the team's composition. We read in the press that the team is making new transfers, but we have not seen their games. The quality of the players will become clear in the first rounds after the new season starts. Every coach has his own style, football philosophy. He also chooses players according to that philosophy. This is an important factor. Because if you don't have quality players in your hands, you can't do anything. It's a very strange thing that "Neftchi" has been changing coaches frequently in the last 10-12 years. Just as every field has its own rules, there is such a thing in football that you cannot add strength to the team by changing coaches often. To become a champion again with Samir Abbasov? Why not? He has already succeeded in doing this once. You know, our biggest problem is the lack of trust in local experts. We need to give our local coaches a chance. "Qarabag", "Zira", "Araz-Nakhchivan" can be shown as examples."

It should be noted that "Neftchi" finished the 2023/2024 season of the Azerbaijan Premier League in 5th place.
