"I have been following Yuri Vernidub since he worked at Sheriff. If they invite foreign coaches, it means they believe in them." These words were said by Aghasalim Mirjavadov, a member of the AFFA Coaches Committee, in his statement to Sport24.az.
The experienced specialist commented on the frequent coaching changes in our clubs recently:
"How many foreign head coaches have worked and failed at Neftchi in recent years? I have already lost count. Araz-Nakhchivan also parted ways with Elmar Bakhshiyev. They don't believe in local coaches. Why? Unfortunately, we have a completely different picture. That's why such deplorable situations occur. Frequent coaching changes lead to unpleasant events. Although I am aware of some issues, I don't talk about them because it's pointless. If we live in Azerbaijan now, we need to trust local coaches."
It should be noted that the head coaches of 7 out of 12 teams currently playing in the Premier League are foreigners.
