"In Azerbaijan, sports facilities were quickly built for the CIS Games. The stadium in Ganja can be cited as an example. It will be ready by September. In addition, arenas can be built. I would be happy if the U-20 World Championship was held in our country." Agaselim Mirjavadov said this in his statement to Sport24.az.
A member of the Coaching Committee positively assessed the joint candidacy of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan to host the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2027:
"Whatever competitions have been held in Azerbaijan, they have been organized at a high level. For example, the U-17 European Championship was held in Baku. Teams such as Portugal, Germany, and Spain attended. In general, Azerbaijan takes every competition seriously. It is in our interest to host the U-20 World Championship in our country. As you know, the lawns in that competition must be natural. This is a very good thing. I remember that the final match of the Europa League was also held in Baku. I think we can do it. I can't say about Uzbekistan, I'm interested, but Azerbaijan, including other sports, has hosted any competition, everything has been at a high level. Both FIFA and UEFA know this."
It should be noted that FIFA has started evaluating candidacies to host the 2027 World Cup among national teams of football players under 20 years old.
