"We will play our first official match in the qualifying round in two months. Therefore, it is time to form the optimal squad." These words were said by Agasalim Mirjavadov in his statement to Sport24.az.
The former head coach of our national team shared his thoughts on the friendly match that the team will play against the Latvian team today:
"It's no longer time to test any player. The squad must be known, and we must know which tactics we will choose. A victory is important in terms of morale and the coach's confidence in the players. It's football, anything can happen, but we shouldn't make mistakes. We don't have much time. There will be no national team gathering after these two games. Fernando Santos must have his first victory so that he himself believes it. Belief is a big factor. Therefore, we must be fully prepared for these two games."
It should be noted that the Latvia-Azerbaijan match, which will be held in Riga today, will start at 17:00 Baku time.
