"In other countries, even if there is a game in European cups, the championship match is not postponed. We have not yet reached that level." These words were said to Sport24.az by Agasalim Mircavadov, the former head coach of the Azerbaijani national team.
The experienced specialist commented on the fact that "Neftchi" did not respond positively to "Qarabag"'s offer to postpone the game in the Misli Premier League:
"We have had this experience many times. Other clubs helped our teams playing in European cups and postponed the match. This should be the case. "Qarabag" wants not to play with "Neftchi" and to have weekly preparation. "Neftchi" made the wrong decision. If the clubs do not want to help each other, that is another matter. If so, there is nothing to say. It is possible that the decision was made by the management. I personally would agree. Whether it is "Qarabag", "Sabah", or "Zira". In the first round of this season, the "Sabah"-"Qarabag" game was postponed due to European cups."
It should be noted that "Qarabag" will play its first match in the play-off stage of the UEFA Champions League against "Newcastle" in Baku on February 18. Agdam will face "Neftchi" on February 21 and "Newcastle" in England on February 24.
