"Realistically speaking, we expected "Qarabag" to take points from "Copenhagen," not "Benfica." These words were said by Afran Ismayilov in his statement to Sport24.az.
The former football player of "Qarabag" revealed his expectations from the "Qarabag" - "Copenhagen" (Denmark) game, which will be held within the League stage of the UEFA Champions League:
"The opponent has developed a lot in recent years; it is not the same "Copenhagen" as before. We will play on our home field, there will be a completely different atmosphere. I believe that "Qarabag" will show their best game and, although it will be difficult, they will win. We have faced "Copenhagen" once before. I was also in that squad. Although we lost away, we beat them on away goals. Now the opposing team plays faster. They perform well in attack as a team. "Qarabag" has played against such teams a lot. This is a team from which we will get 1 or 3 points in the group. I believe that the players also understand this. There are many matches ahead. The further we can go, the greater success we will achieve for our football."
It should be noted that the "Qarabag" - "Copenhagen" match will take place on October 1 at the Tofig Bahramov Republican Stadium. The starting whistle of the match will sound at 20:45.
