The AFFA Disciplinary Committee has announced that the mass brawl that took place during the "Qarabağ" - "Sabah" match within the 22nd round of the Misli Premier League will be re-investigated in the legal sphere.
The AFFA press service, in a statement to "Qafqazinfo", clarified the reasons why a penalty was not imposed at the initial stage regarding the incident that occurred in the 84th minute of the match:
Regarding the episode that occurred in the 84th minute of the "Qarabağ" – "Sabah" game, it should be noted that neither the refereeing team nor the AFFA representative directly observed the reason for the conflict during the game. For this reason, only the fact of the conflict was recorded in the official game protocol, and the necessary information for additional legal assessment of the essence of the incident was not reflected in the protocol.
At the same time, the episode in question was not fully and clearly recorded in the official broadcast footage of the match, which limited the possibility of objectively assessing all aspects of the incident at the initial stage.
However, approximately 10 minutes after the AFFA Disciplinary Committee's decisions were announced to the public, additional technical video footage showing the episode was disseminated in the media and on public platforms. In order to objectively investigate the matter and fully determine the factual circumstances, the AFFA Disciplinary Committee will conduct an additional legal assessment taking into account these images and, if necessary, will make an appropriate decision.
It is important to note that the AFFA Disciplinary Committee is guided in its activities by the relevant normative legal acts of AFFA, the requirements of the Disciplinary Code and the fundamental principles of fair investigation. The Committee strives to make an objective and fair decision by examining each case based on available evidence, official documents and all possible sources of information.
In this regard, it is of particular importance that such technical shots and materials that fully reflect the incident are submitted to the AFFA Disciplinary Committee in a timely and official manner. The prompt submission of such materials makes an important contribution to a more complete investigation of events and the adoption of legally sound decisions".
