UEFA will fine AFFA for the Azerbaijan national team consisting of football players under 21 years old. According to Sport24.az, this will be due to the large number of cards received by the national team members in the last matches of the European Championship qualifying round.
The players received five yellow cards in the match against Portugal in early September, where they lost by five unanswered goals. In early October, UEFA also issued an official warning to the U-21 national team for this. This was even reflected on the official website of the European football organization.
After that warning, the national team drew 3:3 with Scotland in Baku on October 14. In that match, five players received yellow cards, and one was sent off the field after receiving a second yellow card.
UEFA will announce the amount of the fine within a month.
