The Azerbaijani national team has become the winner of the "FIFA Series-2026" tournament. The national team defeated Sierra Leone in the decisive match – 1:1, penalties 9:8. Sport24.az reports that after the match, the Secretary General of AFFA, Jahangir Farajullayev, shared his thoughts with "CBC Sport":
"I congratulate everyone. The victory should not be diminished. The boys fought well in two games and won a deserved victory. Despite falling behind in the score, we fought to the end and won on penalties. This is important for us.
It can be said about the opponents that they are unknown. But this is the beginning of the road for us. Let there be a continuation".
