"The atmosphere in the team is very good. The players are motivated and eager." Sport24.az reports that this was stated by AFFA Secretary General Jahangir Farajullayev before the match with Iceland as part of the DÇ-2026 qualifying round.
He said that they want to start the cycle well: "I think it will be so. We have no demands on the team. They should set demands for themselves. I think they do. We all expect a good game and a good result."
According to Farajullayev, the motivation in the team is good for a successful result: "It is not right to make promises in football. The issue of rewards is internal to the team. What do we need? If motivation is needed, it already exists. It is absolutely impossible to think pessimistically. If we had a bad opinion about head coach Fernandu Santuş, he would not be here. Therefore, we only think positively. The AFFA president met with the team and took an interest in their concerns. There were good discussions."
