The winners of the Azerbaijan Championship's Second League have qualified for the First League.
İdman.biz reports that this was formalized at a meeting of the AFFA Licensing Commission.
"Shahdag Gusar", "Shafa", and "Shimal", which are certain to finish the season in the top 3, have received licenses to play in the First League. "Hypers Guba" and "Shamkir", which remain in contention for 4th place and a spot in the playoffs, have also achieved this. Whichever of them takes 4th place will face the 9th-place finisher in the First League.
The wishes of only two of the clubs that applied for the First League have not been fulfilled. AFFA did not grant licenses to "Araz Saatlı" and "Fuzuli". Even if the teams that fell behind the leaders in the Second League had received licenses, they would have had to play in the lower division again.
