Based on the decision of the AFFA Executive Committee on February 3, a financial incentive mechanism is applied in the 2025/2026 season for the appearance of local players in the squads of clubs playing in the Misli Premier League. Sport24.az reports with reference to the official website of the national association that, according to the decision, the bonus fund will be formed from the fees to be paid for legionnaire football players included in the application form of clubs participating in the Misli Premier League.
According to the new rule, a certain part of the funds to be allocated from legionnaire fees (minimum 1,000,000 AZN) will be distributed among the clubs playing in the Misli Premier League. Also, the club that scores the most points (taking into account coefficients) of local football players during the season will receive an additional award (50,000 AZN from the total amount).
The total number of minutes played by local football players who appeared in the squad of each club will be calculated according to the percentage of the total number of minutes of local football players of all clubs of the Misli Premier League.
For matches to be held within the framework of the Misli Premier League, a general local football player will be evaluated with a coefficient of 1.0, a local football player aged 21 and younger with a coefficient of 1.5, and a club graduate (a football player who has played for at least 3 consecutive seasons in the lower age groups or reserve team of the same club before being promoted to the main team) will be evaluated with a coefficient of 2.0.
The calculation will only cover the main game time of 90 minutes. Only 1 minute will be recorded for players entering the field in added time. If a football player falls into several categories at the same time, his playing minutes will be calculated with the highest coefficient.
