"We have completed the first stage of the training camp. Now we are waiting for friendly matches with "Gabala" on the 21st, "Shamakhi" on the 26th, and "Sumgayit" on the 31st." These words were said by the head coach of "Kapaz" Adil Shukurov in an interview with Sport24.az.
The 48-year-old specialist spoke about the team's goals for the next season:
"The team's goal in the new season is to stay in the Premier League. Our goal is to finish the 2025/26 "football year" in at least 7-8th place. Many players left from last year's squad. Of course, this will have an impact. We parted ways with almost 70-80 percent of the squad. The main reason was that the players wanted higher salaries, which was beyond our capabilities. That's why we couldn't continue with them. We were forced to attract new players to the squad with conditions that suit us. This will also have an impact. We need at least 2 months to instill the style of play we want in the team."
It should be noted that Shukurov coached the "yellow-blues" from November 2023 to August 2024. He returned to the "helm" of "Kapaz" again this summer.
