Russian businessman Roman Abramovich is interested in buying a new football club.
Lent.az reports with reference to foreign media that, according to the source, Abramovich is planning to acquire a controlling stake in the Turkish club Galatasaray. The businessman has already bought a mansion on the Bosphorus and is preparing to move to Istanbul.
In 2024, AS wrote that Abramovich wanted to buy the Spanish club Valencia. It is reported that fans hope that the team's fate will improve after the change of owner.
From 2003 to 2022, Abramovich was the owner of the Chelsea club. In May 2022, he sold the club to a consortium led by American businessman Todd Boehly. The deal was worth $5.33 billion. Abramovich was forced to leave the team after being sanctioned by the UK government.
