The 250th own goal has been recorded in the history of the top league of the Azerbaijan championships.
"Report" reports with reference to the official website of the Professional Football League that this happened in the XIV round match "Gabala" - "Turan Tovuz".
The last goal in the match was scored by Seydina Keita, a football player of the home team, into his own goal.
This was the 250th own goal in the history of the top league of the Azerbaijan championships. In the competition held since 1992, there were 249 such cases before Seydina.
The first own goal was recorded on May 16, 1992. Vahid Mahmudov, a football player of "Shirvan" of Kurdamir, "distinguished himself" in the away match with "Kurmuk" (0:6).
So far, 44 teams have scored into their own goal. 40 teams rejoiced at the opponent's goal. Keita became the 207th football player to score an own goal.
It should be noted that there were more - 18 own goals in the 2022/2023 season. No such goal was recorded in the 1993/1994 season.
