The draw for the third round of the 2026 World Cup qualifying tournament in the North and Central America and Caribbean (CONCACAF) zone has been held.
Idman.biz reports that 12 teams will compete in three groups.
2026 World Cup qualifying tournament, CONCACAF zone, third round:
Group A: Panama, El Salvador, Guatemala, Suriname.
Group B: Jamaica, Curaçao, Trinidad and Tobago, Bermuda.
Group C: Costa Rica, Honduras, Haiti, Nicaragua.
Matches will be held in September-November 2025, and the group winners will qualify for the 2026 World Cup. Canada, Mexico and the USA from CONCACAF will also participate in the tournament as hosts.
Two more teams will have a chance to play in the 2026 World Cup: the two with the best performance among the second-placed teams in the groups will participate in the intercontinental play-offs in March 2026.
