According to FIFA's Global Transfer Report, a record number of 86,158 international transfers were completed in 2025.
İdman.Biz reports that clubs in professional men's football spent $13.08 billion on transfers, the highest figure of all time.
Women's football also saw growth, with 2,440 transfers (a 6.3% increase) and total spending of $28.6 million, an increase of more than 80% compared to 2024.
In men's football, English clubs led the way in spending, with $3.82 billion spent on transfers and $1.77 billion spent on transfer fees. "Liverpool" signed a record deal in the British market, buying Alexander Isak for $172 million (£125 million). This deal was the most expensive one-time purchase in 2025.
