The lifeless body of Cheikh Toure, an 18-year-old promising Senegalese goalkeeper, has been found in Ghana. Sport24.az reports, citing the Senegalese embassy and authorities, that the young footballer was the victim of a criminal network. It is alleged that Toure's family was demanded a large sum of money.
Toure played for "Esprit Foot Yeumbeul" and was allegedly kidnapped by a criminal group. He was falsely promised a trial at a professional football club. The young goalkeeper was subsequently kidnapped.
Ghanaian authorities are currently continuing their investigations into the exact cause of death.
