A 17-year-old footballer from the "Iermiyagu Xolon" youth team, which plays in the third division of the Israeli championship, has been disqualified for 99 years.
Lent.az reports that the reason for the punishment was his beating of an opposing footballer in the dressing room. The video of the incident has been widely circulated on the internet. The club confirmed the incident and announced that the footballer had been removed from the team. However, it stated that the fight was allegedly provoked by the injured player.
Despite the club's position, the disciplinary court of the Israeli Football Association suspended the participant in the incident, the unnamed footballer, from football until November 2124 and fined him 2,500 shekels (approximately 1,327 manats). If similar violations are repeated by the club's players, the team may be penalized with a loss of points next time.
