149 referees banned from football in Turkey

The Professional Football Disciplinary Board of the Turkish Football Federation has penalized referees found to have participated in sports betting.

Lent.az reports that 149 referees who officiated professional team matches have been sanctioned. They have been disqualified for various periods ranging from 8 to 12 months. 

Investigations are still ongoing regarding three referees working in Turkey's elite division.
