The "Battle of Champions" chess tournament held in Baku has ended. Sport24.az reports that the winners were determined after rapid and blitz games.
Among men, Azerbaijani champion Rauf Mammadov faced Rustam Kasimdzhanov (Uzbekistan), a former winner of the World Cup. Our chess player, who gained an advantage with a score of 8:4 in rapid, could not repeat the same success in blitz. But this did not prevent him from winning in the overall score.
In the women's competition, Gunay Mammadzada won. She maintained the advantage she gained in rapid until the end.
