Former two-division UFC champion in featherweight (up to 66 kg) and lightweight (up to 70 kg) weight classes, 37-year-old Irishman Conor McGregor, spoke about his participation in the Irish presidential elections.

We will win this presidential election together and return power to the Irish people, as Patrick Pearse (Irish poet, writer, lawyer, revolutionary and politician, one of the leaders of the Easter Rising in Ireland in 1916 - ed.) bequeathed to us!
I have sent letters to all local councils asking for their support for my candidacy, and I have received many positive responses from them! I will be making another important announcement in the coming days. Get ready!" McGregor wrote on his X social media page.
To be included on the voting ballots, McGregor needs the support of 20 members of parliament or four local or county councils.
