Azerbaijani boxer Alfonso Dominquez has won his next victory at the World Championships in Liverpool. Sport24.az reports that the leader of the national team, competing in the 90 kg weight category, faced Emrah Yasar (Turkey) in the 1/4 finals.
The fight ended with the victory of our world champion. Dominquez defeated his opponent with a score of 3:2 (28:29, 30:27, 28:29, 29:28, 29:28) and advanced to the semifinals. Thanks to this victory, our boxer has also secured at least a bronze medal for himself.
In the semifinals, Alfonso will face Brazilian Santos Ribeiro Filho. The meeting will take place on September 12.
It should be noted that Saidjamshid Jafarov (75 kg) will also compete in the 1/4 finals during the evening session.
