Azerbaijan's 3x3 basketball teams have reached the semifinals at the III CIS Games.
According to the correspondent of "Report" who was sent to the competition, the 3x3 basketball competitions started today in Ganja.
Azerbaijan's U17 teams, both boys and girls, have advanced to the semifinals.
Azerbaijan's U17 boys team (Huseyn Gaflanov, Emanuel Agbasan, Ismail Abdullayev and Oguzkhan Guliyev), which is in Group A, defeated Tajikistan (21:13) and Kyrgyzstan (18:6), but lost to Russia (8:21). Our team, which finished second in the group, qualified for the semifinals. In the semifinals, the Azerbaijani team will face the Belarusian national team, which finished Group "B" as the leader. In the second semifinal, Russia will face Uzbekistan.
Our girls' team (Polina Shukina, Deniz Gokchol, Angelina Ismayilova and Leyla Allahverdiyeva) started the tournament with a defeat against Uzbekistan (13:16), but secured a place in the semifinals by winning consecutive victories. Our team defeated Kazakhstan (20:5), Russia (19:18) and Belarus (18:17).
5 teams competed in the girls' tournament. The tournament was held in a round-robin system and the first four teams advanced to the semifinals. The Azerbaijani team qualified for the semifinals in first place. Our opponent in the semifinals will be the Uzbekistan team. In the other semifinal, Russia will face Belarus.
The semifinals, third-place matches and finals will be held tomorrow from 16:00.
