The U-17 European Wrestling Championship is taking place in Samokov, Bulgaria.
Idman.Biz reports that in the qualifying stage held today, our wrestler Tunar Hasanov, competing in the 45 kg weight category, defeated Georgian representative Mkrtich Canamyan with a score of 3:2 and advanced to the 1/4 finals.
Tunar Guliyev, competing in the 71 kg weight category, lost to Armenian Avetik Tutkhalyan with a score of 2:15 in the preliminary stage. Our representative Elgun Karimli, competing in the 92 kg category, confidently defeated Armenian wrestler Artur Mkrtchyan with a score of 8:0 and qualified for the 1/4 finals.
In this stage, our other representatives Vahid Mammadov (60 kg) will face Spaniard Samvel Gorgyan, and Ibrahim Hasanov (51 kg) will face Ukrainian Bohdan Kazakov.
It should be noted that the competition will end on May 17.
