Azerbaijani wrestlers have taken to the mat in the 1/4 final stage of the U-17 European Championship held in Samokov, Bulgaria.
Idman.Biz reports that Ibrahim Hasanov, competing in the 51 kg weight category, advanced to the semifinals with a dominant (12:0) victory over Russian Khalid Songurbekov.
Tunar Hasanov, competing at 45 kg, lost to Ukrainian Marko Kvasniuk with a score of 0:2. Vahid Mammadov, competing in the 60 kg weight category, faced defeat against Polish Witold Pavlik based on the last point principle (1:1). Elgun Karimli, competing at 92 kg, also lost to Russian Abdurazak Shabanov with a score of 4:15.
It should be noted that the competition will end on May 17.

Ibrahim Hasanov, competing at 51 kg, also advanced to the 1/4 finals with a dominant (10:0) victory over Ukrainian Bohdan Kazakov.
It should be noted that earlier Tunar Hasanov at 45 kg defeated Georgian representative Mkrtich Canamyan 3:2, and Elgun Karimli at 92 kg defeated Armenian wrestler Artur Mkrtchyan 8:0 to advance to the 1/4 finals.

Tunar Guliyev, competing in the 71 kg weight category, lost to Armenian Avetik Tutkhalyan with a score of 2:15 in the preliminary stage. Our representative Elgun Karimli, competing at 92 kg, secured a confident 8:0 victory over Armenian wrestler Artur Mkrtchyan and qualified for the 1/4 finals.
In this stage, our other representatives Vahid Mammadov (60 kg) will face Spaniard Samvel Gorgyan, and Ibrahim Hasanov (51 kg) will face Ukrainian Bohdan Kazakov.
