Gultekin Shirinova (55 kg), who won a silver medal at the U-23 European Wrestling Championship held in Zrenjanin, Serbia, aims to win a gold medal in the next competitions.
She was disappointed that she could not win a gold medal.
"We prepared very well for the competition. I would like to express my deep gratitude to my personal coach Mehman Allahverdiyev, he put a lot of effort into me. I won a silver medal. Today I would really like my medal to be gold, but everything depends on fate. I am very upset that I could not become a champion. God willing, I will prepare more seriously and turn this silver into a gold medal," she said in a statement to report.az.
It should be noted that Gultekin Shirinova lost to Hungarian Gerta Tereke in the final.
