The U-17 European Championship held in Samokov, Bulgaria, has come to an end. Sport24.az reports that our national freestyle wrestling team performed successfully, winning 3 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
7 out of 10 members of our team reached the podium. Our team, which scored 156 points in the end, became the European runner-up in the team standings, only 7 points behind the champion Russia.
Under the leadership of head coach Asgarxan Novruzov, coaches Vahid Mammadov, Yashar Aliyev, and Allahverdi Veliyev, Huseyn Rzazade (48 kg), Ibrahim Hasanov (51 kg), and Nihad Suleymanli (80 kg) became champions. Rashid Nazarov (65 kg) won a silver medal, while Tunar Hasanov (45 kg), Abbas Shafiyev (55 kg), and Hakim Tagiyev (110 kg) won bronze medals.
