President of the Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation (AVF) Shahin Baghirov met with young volleyball players and their parents in Nakhchivan.

It was reported that the meeting was attended by MP Kamalladin Gafarov, director of the Nakhchivan branch of the federation Vugar Aliyev, heads of sponsor companies and representatives of the volleyball community.
At the event, Rahil Tahirli, deputy director of the Nakhchivan branch, gave detailed information about the development of volleyball in the region, the involvement of children and teenagers in this sport, as well as the results achieved. It was reported that as a result of the selection work carried out in city and district schools in recent years, hundreds of promising young people have been involved in volleyball, and significant progress has been made especially in the development of girls' volleyball.
It was noted that over the past two years, Nakhchivan's youth boys' and girls' teams have participated in the Azerbaijani championships and won two gold and four bronze medals. In addition, more than 15 athletes have been involved in the Azerbaijani national teams in various age groups.
In his speech, Shahin Baghirov spoke about the complex development of volleyball in the country, the attention paid to children's volleyball and the conditions created. He emphasized that the championships held among teenagers play an important role in the training of future generations of athletes.
The AVF president specifically noted the role of parents in these works and emphasized the importance of cooperation between athletes, coaches and families. He said that the development of volleyball in Nakhchivan creates wide opportunities for the implementation of new projects in the future.
Finally, Shahin Baghirov watched the training process of young volleyball players and the game of the "Momina Khatun" team, and was interested in the athletes selected for the national team. Then, the prospects for the development of volleyball in the region were discussed with sponsors and coaches.
