Former Canadian hockey player Claude Lemieux has died at the age of 60.
İdman.Biz reports that the "NHL Alumni Association" announced this. AP, citing local law enforcement agencies, wrote that his death was assessed as suicide.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, the incident was recorded in Lake Park, Florida. Lemieux's son searched for him after he did not return home.
Claude Lemieux won the Stanley Cup four times in his NHL career. He was champion with the Montreal Canadiens in 1986, the New Jersey Devils in 1995 and 2000, and the Colorado Avalanche in 1996.
Lemieux, who was selected as the most valuable player of the playoffs in 1995 as part of the New Jersey Devils, was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy. The former striker is remembered for 379 goals and 407 assists in 1215 games in the NHL regular season.
