Azerbaijani national judo team member Ushanqi Kokauri won a silver medal at the "Grand Slam" tournament held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
Idman.Biz reports that our athlete, competing in the +100 kg weight category, advanced to the final in the competition. Kokauri first defeated Kazakh representative Jantilek Nurtilepulu, then German judoka Erik Abramov. In the semi-finals, he was stronger than Timan Diabi, representing France.
In the decisive match, Kokauri faced Russian Inal Tasoev. Losing to his opponent in the final, the Azerbaijani judoka finished the Astana "Grand Slam" in second place.
