Judo competitions continue at the Universiade held in the Rhine-Ruhr region of Germany.
İdman.biz's correspondent dispatched to Germany reports that five Azerbaijani judokas took to the tatami today.
Among them is world championship bronze medalist Eldjan Hajiyev (90 kg). He started the fight from the second stage and won against Brazilian representative Gilermo Morasi. He then defeated Augustus Sliteris (Lithuania) and advanced to the semi-finals.
Davud Namazli (100 kg) defeated Lithuanian representative Tadas Narkus in his first match, but lost to Japanese Miku Nozoma in the next stage.
Ramazan Ahmadov (+100 kg) advanced by defeating Moldovan athlete Alin Bagrini.
Nigar Suleymanova (+78 kg) defeated Lucy Williams from Great Britain, but later lost to South Korean representative Ha-Yun Kim.
Narmin Amirli (78 kg) lost to French athlete Kaliya Issoufi in her first match.
