Morocco, Qatar, Egypt, Lebanon, Sudan, and Mauritania football federations have expressed their support for FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

"Recognizing the important role of Arab football in bringing people together and strengthening cooperation in the Arab world, we express our full support for Mr. Infantino and reaffirm our confidence in his leadership and continued commitment to the development of football worldwide. We highly appreciate Mr. Infantino's tireless efforts to develop football worldwide, expand opportunities in all regions, and strengthen the role of the game in uniting people and communities," the joint statement of the federations said.
Infantino had previously suggested selling shares in the World Cup to private investors, but later abandoned the idea amid criticism. UEFA, CONCACAF, AFC, and CONMEBOL opposed the initiative. UEFA also announced that it had lost confidence in the FIFA president and would boycott FIFA-funded tournaments.
In addition, several national associations, including the African Football Confederation and the Mexican Football Federation, had previously expressed their support for Infantino.
56-year-old Infantino has been at the helm of FIFA since February 2016. The organization's next presidential election is scheduled for March 2027.
