Today, six Azerbaijani judokas start fighting at the "Grand Slam" tournament held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
Idman.Biz reports that Rashad Yelkiyev, Turan Bayramov (both 66 kg), Shafag Hamidova, Konul Aliyeva (both 48 kg), Gultaj Mammadaliyeva and Leyla Aliyeva (both 52 kg) will compete on the first day of the competition.
The qualification stage will start at 10:00 AM, and the final block will start at 4:00 PM.
Azerbaijan is represented by 11 judokas (6 men, 5 women) in seven weight categories in the competition, which is included in the World Judo Tour. 295 athletes from 36 countries are competing in the tournament.
