Members of the Azerbaijani national team, who successfully competed in the 20th European Wushu Championship held in Lyon, France, have returned to their homeland.
Idman.Biz reports that our athletes were greeted with great enthusiasm at Heydar Aliyev International Airport by Azer Hasansoy, President of the Azerbaijan Wushu Federation, coaches, parents, and media representatives.
The team, under the leadership of head coach Eminov Elchin, achieved high results in the competition, winning a total of 15 medals.
Gold medalists
Rustamzade Tunar (48 kg, juniors, Sanda), Ibrahimov Khayal (52 kg, youth, Sanda), Suleymanov Said (56 kg, youth, Sanda), Guluzade Zaur (70 kg, youth, Sanda), Jabbarli Ali (56 kg, youth, Light Sanda), Asgarov Nihat (60 kg, youth, Light Sanda) and Eminov Elchin (70 kg, seniors, Light Sanda) took first place.
Silver medalists
Huseyn Omar (56 kg, juniors, Sanda), Mammadli Mahammad (48 kg, youth, Sanda), Muradov Elchin (56 kg, youth, Light Sanda), Samsur Harun (75 kg, youth, Sanda) and Huseynov Babek (100+ kg, seniors, Tuishou) won second place.
Bronze medalists
Mikayilov Nadir (65 kg, youth, Sanda), Gozalov Baylar (75 kg, Light Sanda) and Soltanli Khadija (48 kg, women) took third place.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani team finished the championship with seven gold, five silver and three bronze medals, achieving another success in European wushu.
The results achieved will be remembered as another great success of Azerbaijani wushu in Europe.
