The judokas who will represent Azerbaijan at the European Open Tournament to be held in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, have been determined. Sport24.az reports with reference to the press service of the Judo Federation that 24 judokas (15 men, 9 women) in 11 weight categories will represent our country at the tournament.
The male judokas Huseyn Allahyarov, Murad Muradli, Gasim Valizade (all 60 kg), Kenan Ismayilov, Tofig Mammadov, Elshan Asadov, Nazir Talibov, Islam Rahimov (all 66 kg), Kamran Suleymanov, Ibrahim Aliyev, Rufat Shovlatov, Nariman Mirzayev (all 73 kg), Maharram Imamverdiyev (81 kg), Naim Huseynov (90 kg), Elmar Gasimov (100 kg), and female judokas Konul Aliyeva (48 kg), Gultaj Mammadaliyeva (52 kg), Gulnara Bayramova, Ulviyya Bayramova, Vusala Hajiyeva (all 57 kg), Sudaba Agayeva, Aytaj Gardashkhanli (both 70 kg), Gunel Hasanli and Narmin Amirli (78 kg) will participate in the competition.
Our athletes will be led by Slavko Tekic, the head coach of the men's national team, and Amina Abdellatif, the head coach of the women's national team.
It should be noted that 454 athletes (283 men, 171 women) from 37 countries will test their strength at the tournament, which will be held on September 27–28.
