Azerbaijani judoka Hidayat Heydarov won another victory at the European Championship held in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia.
Idman.Biz reports that the Olympic champion, competing in the 73 kg weight category, defeated Dardan Cena (Kosovo) in the 1/8 finals.
He had previously defeated Konstantinos Tsaparas (Greece) in the 1/16 finals.
It should be noted that two of the seven athletes who joined the competition yesterday - Ahmad Yusifov (60 kg) and Turan Bayramov (66 kg) - won bronze medals.
The European Championship will end on April 19.

He will face Konstantinos Tsaparas (Greece) in the 1/16 finals.
Heydarov can become a 5-time European champion today. He had previously won gold medals at the continental championships in 2017, 2022, 2023 and 2024.
It should be noted that two of the seven Azerbaijani judokas who competed on the previous day of the competition managed to win medals. Thus, Ahmad Yusifov (60 kg) and Turan Bayramov (66 kg) finished their performances with bronze medals.
