Azerbaijani judoka Davud Namazli (100 kg), who won a silver medal at the European Youth Cup held in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, had his toughest fight in the 1/4 finals against a US athlete.

He also explained the reason for his defeat in the final: "My matches went well overall. All of the opponents I defeated before the final were titled, strong athletes. My toughest opponent was the US judoka I faced in the 1/4 finals. We continued until the "Golden Score". In the final, I lost due to some technical shortcomings."
Namazli emphasized his biggest goals for this year: "The Universiade is coming up. I will try to turn the silver medal I won here into gold at that competition. My biggest goal this year is to become the winner of the European and World Championships among young people."
It should be noted that 428 judokas from 32 countries competed in the European Cup.
