The European Judo Cup among adults, held in the city of Gori, Georgia, has ended. Sport24.az reports that 4 more of our judokas took places on the podium on the second day of the competition.
Ajdar Bagirov won a gold medal in the -100 kg weight category, defeating all his rivals.
In this weight category, Elmar Gasimov won a bronze medal. Khayyam Aliyev (-90 kg) and Diana Tchkayeva (-48 kg) also finished the tournament with bronze medals. On the first day of the competition, Islam Rahimov (-66 kg) won gold, Elshan Asadov (-66 kg) won silver, and Babarahim Mirzayev (-60 kg), Nizami Imranov (-66 kg) and Rufat Shovlatov (-73 kg) won bronze medals. In the end, Azerbaijan, winning 2 gold, 1 silver and 6 bronze medals, took third place in the overall team standings, and second place among men.
